AI officer (CAIO)
We own your AI plan: what to use, what to build, the rules your team follows, training, and a monthly check on whether it is paying off.
From $2,500/mo
Embedded

From $4,000/mo
When owners call us
"We are about to sign a big software contract."
Get an independent review before you commit. We check fit, cost over five years, and what it would take to build instead.
"Leadership keeps asking what our AI plan is."
We separate what is real from what is hype for your business, and put a costed plan in front of you.
"We have a developer but no direction."
We set priorities, review the work, and mentor your team so the right things get built.
"Our last vendor left us with a mess."
We assess what you have, tell you honestly what is salvageable, and lay out options with costs.
Common questions
Do we need a Chief AI Officer?
Most owner led businesses do not need a full time one. A fractional AI officer sets the plan and the rules, picks the tools, trains the team, and checks the results each month, for a flat fee. Under about 20 people, the advisory plan usually covers it.
What is the difference between a fractional CTO and a fractional CAIO?
A CTO covers all of your technology: systems, vendors, security, and builds. A CAIO focuses on AI: where it pays off, what it may and may not touch, and how your team uses it. With us it is the same senior person, so you pick the focus, not two retainers.
How is this different from a consultant?
Consultants advise and leave. We stay accountable for outcomes, and the same person who sets the plan can build it. No slide decks that nobody implements.
Is there a long term contract?
No. Flat monthly fee, cancel with 30 days notice.
What kind of background do you bring?
Former CTO and co-founder of a custom software firm, principal engineer at a startup, and years leading engineering teams in regulated healthcare software, including leading the adoption of AI in how those teams build.
